hi i'm jaynie!

I'm a calligrapher and graphic designer based in New Orleans and serving clients near and far. I believe that change is the only constant, balance is necessary and that beauty never asks for attention. I'm inspired by textures, clean typography, flowing hand lettering and graceful watercolor. I'm constantly seeking the white space.

You can find me snuggled up at home with my dogs, or trying to keep up with my husband and our two-year-old daughter, Olive.

To put it simply, I specialize in visual first impressions but here's a list of specifics:

Custom Stationery   |  Calligraphy Classes   |  Collaborations

the story of ebb & flow ink

After a few unfulfilling desk jobs and a brief stint waiting tables following college graduation, I was feeling lost and empty. One night, I jotted down a list of things that I felt drawn to, hoping one of them had the potential to be a call to action. Most of those interests were ambiguous, but one in particular kept tugging at my heartstrings: hand lettering. I searched for distinct styles, mediums and artists. I kept telling myself 'If I did this, I wouldn't be as talented as these artists.'

Then, I came across a quote one night while endlessly scrolling on Pinterest:

Don’t compare your beginning to someone else’s middle.
— tim hiller

The quote resonated with me so much that I took a trip to the art store and bought $75 worth of brand new pens.

I've been writing ever since.
